It's time for spring planting. But, why plant one spring flower when, by expanding the hole a little, and investing a few more minutes, you can plant thousands? Consider that it's not much more work to plant a flowering tree than a six-pack of annuals, yet the benefits are incomparably greater. If planted in the right spot and given even minimal care, the tree should prove to be a great investment (for you, certainly. Your heirs may have to replant it someday, but that's their concern.) If you lost as many trees as we did in the winter ice storm, this seems to be a great idea.
