Since we did not get the opportunity to give our Third Quarter Reports at the meeting last Sunday, I would like to share our bookstore report with you. The new cassette/CD album entitled JESUS, HIS WALK, HIS TALK, HIS VISION just arrived today. I have not had a chance to listen, so I will just quote the publisher. It sounds exciting, especially if you are a Jesus freak, like me. I am very pleased that this was published by UNITY Multi/Media. In my 35 years of Unity, I have seen the popularity of Jesus swing in and out. Of coarse, according to Unity tradition, each minister is free to teach in his/her own way. Some seldom mention him while some strongly express his teachings. But, since Jesus was solidly the center of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore's teachings, I have always been amazed at how any Unity minister could almost ignore him and still consider themselves Unity teachers.

Margaret Pounders has been such a staple in the Unity movement for so many years, I forget just how powerful her books and spoken words are. She and her husband, Frank Pounders, are co-ministers of Unity Church of Christianity in Dallas, Texas. I recently had an occasion to listen to her cassette album, FINDING YOUR INNER HARMONY and it was so inspiring, I would like to bring it to your attention. Recorded in 1993, it would have been just as powerful in 1893 as it is today.

Christmas CDs arrived this week. We have a varied selection this year and I hope they are as successful as last years. Reba McEntire, Natalie Cole, Mariah Carey and Rosie are just a few.

PLEASE mark your calendar with a big star on Saturday, November 24th. That is the day I would like to decorate the bookstore for Christmas and I am asking for your help, if at all possible. Last year it took me two days, but with many hands, it could be done in a couple of hours. I plan to start around 10 A.M. and we can be out of there by 12:00 or 1:00. Thank you!

And Mariah Carey is "hot", as only MariahCarey can be.

Sales through September 30, 2001, were $4,497.00. Sales for the same period last year were $4,074. This is an increase of $423.00, or 9%.

Purchases and expenses for the same period this year were $4,330.00. Compared to last years $3,784.00, this is an increase of $546.00 or 13%.

Net Income for the period was -$259.00. If we factor back in the Gift Certificates to volunteers ($503.00) and the 20% Discount to volunteers ($376.00) the picture is a little more encouraging at a plus $620.00. Compared with the Net Income last year of $111.00, this reflects an increase of $409.00 or 82%.

I would like to publicly thank Ruth Jacobs for designing and maintaining our private Web site, where we are continually in touch with the bookstore staff to stay informed of news, procedures and exciting new products. We are probably the only Unity church in the world that has a private Bookstore Web Site with color photos, commentary and reviews. Thank you, Ruth. You are truly a blessing!
